Delete your account in the app
- Open Cedar and sign in.
- On Today, tap your initial at the top to open Profile. On a Mac or a wide window, choose Settings in the sidebar.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read what will be deleted, then tap Delete everything.
Your account and everything in it are deleted from our servers straight away, and you’re signed out. This can’t be undone. If you sign in again later with the same Google account, you start a new, empty account.
Or ask us by email
If you can’t use the app, for example because you no longer have your device, you can ask us to delete your account.
- Email malik@ashternext.com from the Google email address you use to sign in to Cedar.
- Use the subject “Delete my Cedar account”.
- We’ll confirm that we got your request.
- We’ll delete your account within 30 days and email you when it’s done.
- If you write from a different address, we’ll need to check that the account is yours first.
What gets deleted
- Your sign-in: the link between Cedar and your Google account.
- Your profile: your name, email address and picture, and your focus settings.
- Your habits, their day plans, and every day you marked, with its note.
- Your todos and tags.
- Your focus sessions.
- Your notes, locked or not.
- Your countdowns.
- Any AI assistant’s access to your Cedar. It can’t reach your data after that.
- Anything you deleted earlier in the app, which until now was kept out of sight on our servers.
- On the device you deleted from: the offline copy of your data and the reminders Cedar scheduled. If Cedar is signed in on another device, sign out there or uninstall it to remove that copy.
What is kept, and for how long
- Backups: our hosting provider keeps backups for a limited period of up to 30 days. After that, your deleted data is gone from them too.
- Sign-in and security records kept by our hosting provider are deleted after a limited period.
- Countdown photos were never on our servers. They stay in Cedar’s storage on each device until you uninstall Cedar there.
- What an assistant already read stays with that assistant’s company, under its own privacy policy. You can delete those chats in the assistant.
- Your email to us: if you asked us by email, we keep that email thread as a record of your request.
Your Google account isn’t affected. To also remove Cedar from your Google account’s list of connected apps, go to your Google Account, open Security, then Your connections to third-party apps & services.
Delete some data and keep your account
- You can delete habits, todos, notes and countdowns in the app. They disappear at once, and are erased for good from our servers after 90 days, or when you delete your account.
- To have specific data erased for good now, email malik@ashternext.com from your Google sign-in address and tell us what to erase. We’ll do it within 30 days.
